Summer Cruising Events
June 29 – Charles Island Cruise (12-Mile Day Trip)
Our first cruise of the season! We'll sail to the anchorage behind Charles Island (Milford) for a relaxed raft-up. Each boat should bring:
- Appetizers
- BBQ items
- Beverages to share with fellow cruisers
July 11 – Port Jefferson Day Cruise (16 Miles Each Way)- Departing 8:00 AM from Fayerweather Yacht Club. We’ll sail to Conscience Bay near Port Jefferson for a beach visit.
- Return the same day or anchor overnight if you choose.
August 16 – Host Visit from Centerport Yacht ClubWe’ll welcome Centerport Yacht Club to Fayerweather.
- The club restaurant will be open Saturday evening, and members are encouraged to attend and socialize.
- Bill Cunningham will give a presentation on the history of FYC and the Black Rock Harbor area.
August 23–24 – Reciprocal Cruise to Centerport/Northport (24 Miles)- An overnight trip where each boat will need to book its own mooring via Dockwa.
- Centerport YC restaurant will be open and available for members to have dinner
- Details about the facilities and nearby attractions is on the Centerport Club Website, and more particularly the Visitor Information page where you'll find links to the John W. Engeman Theater and The Vanderbilt Museum & Planetarium, along with other things like launch & dining room hours, hailing frequency, etc.
- Members are most welcome to utilize the dining room, bar, pool and locker facilities during their stay, and they can get a launch ride over to Northport Village.
